Job Summary:

The Department of Cell and Regenerative Biology at the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is a rapidly growing department examining multiple avenues of scientific solutions and discoveries for the future of Cell Development, Stem Cells, and Regenerative Biology/Medicine. As a member of the administrative team, the Research Administrator will join a lively and collaborative culture that partners with many laboratories and disciplines in a fast-moving and exciting area of study that is strongly dependent upon sponsored research and grant funding.

Responsibilities:

Works directly with principal investigator(s) and/or research program director(s) to carry out research administrative functions related sponsored grants, agreements, or award management (proposal preparation through closeout).
  • 20% Guides and assists researchers with interpretation of policy and procedure related to overall sponsored project management
  • 50% Assists researchers by preparing non-technical materials for proposals, drafting contracts or agreements for review, and/or advising award setup
  • 20% Assists researchers with preparing and/or maintaining documentation, financial management, and/or reporting requirements related to sponsored grants, contracts, or agreements
  • 10% May identify funding opportunities and disseminate to principal investigators

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and education

Qualifications:

Professional experience and current knowledge of higher education, industry or other outside sponsored research grants, agreements, etc., and all policy, procedures, and systems therein preferred. Experience with UW systems strongly preferred.

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
