The Procurement Analyst will be an integral member of ECE’s research finance and administrative team, providing procurement support to a large portfolio contracts and sub-awards, including departmental procurement requests. This includes but is not limited to collecting documents and approvals necessary to submit a purchasing request, receipting POs to allow for payment, and reconciling p-card expense reports. The Procurement Analyst responsibilities also include financial management reports on assigned research grants, monitoring transactions, and other key financial functions.

This position is hiring at a starting salary between $45,370 and $55,000 per year.

Essential Functions
  • Assists with general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements
  • Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles
  • Analyzes and prepares accounts, financial statements and reports
  • Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects
  • Identifies, prioritizes, and resolves financial issues; probes beyond stated situation; identifies underlying issues; recognizes exceptions; performs preliminary analysis
  • Recommends, assists, tests, or implements process streamlining, system improvements or work flow changes; participates as a project team member
  • Leads sourcing and procurement strategies in the department
  • Leads supplier registration process in the department
  • Works with departments and process partners to resolve issues related to procurement
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
Additional Functions / Information
  • Assists with administrative duties such as coordinating research-related travel, purchasing equipment and supplies, and scheduling meetings and events
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One year of related experience in accounting/finance
  • Skills Required
    • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and database software
    • Basic knowledge of accounting and accounting principles
    • Working knowledge of accounting systems
Substitutions
  • In lieu of the education requirement, additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year for year basis may be substituted
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance Experience
  • Experience working in an institution of higher education with some experience in financial management
  • Management of personnel and grants/contracts with federal/state agencies
  • Procurement experience
