Position Description Summary/Purpose :

This position assists with the daily operations of the Registrars Office. The Registration Coordinator is responsible for setting up and managing the registration process each semester. This position requires confidentiality, a can-do attitude, and an exceptional work ethic.

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities :

  • Identifies registration dates in alignment with the university calendar
  • Sets up registration schedules in the student database
  • Performs a daily course reconciliation
  • Manages adds, swaps, drops and withdrawals of student courses and withdrawal from the university in accordance with Title IV regulations
  • Processes cancelled course notifications
  • Process pre-requisite overrides
  • Prepare annual pre-requisite list
  • Run the perquisite process each semester and module
  • Assists Registrar and Assistant Registrar in preparing for audits
  • Processes the waitlist notifications and registers students for waitlisted classes
  • Manages student registration for the Hartford Consortium
  • Collaborates with academic departments as needed
  • Collaborates with graduation related activities
Other Functions
  • Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
  • Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
  • Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.
Knowledge, Ability and Skill :
  • Requires cognitive ability to prioritize duties and flexibility to manage different responsibilities at once.
  • Need for adaptability, professionalism and confidence in decision-making.
  • Organizational skills are essential
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively and under tight deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records and related documents
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and student databases
Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications :
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in higher education, Title IV, or related field preferred
