Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Coordinator II, Campus Facilities facilitates daily operations of the facilities department. Plans, assigns, and reviews work activities for Facilities Maintenance, Grounds, and Custodial staff using various software applications, providing advice to staff on procedures, problem areas, job specifications, training and required documentation. Performs analysis on various forms of data and provides reports to management, outside entities and state/federal agencies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assists with monitoring and maintaining facilities budget for campus and related centers. Provides ongoing budget reports to management
  2. Coordinates purchasing activities associated with building and grounds maintenance activities, entering data accordingly; reviews and authorizes purchase orders; maintains knowledge of financials/purchasing policies and procedures and ensures compliance, providing training to other employees as needed
  3. Works with contracts, obtaining price quotes and bids and reporting to leadership. Coordinates and processes purchasing related to contract activity. Acts as point of contact for vendors on projects. Develops timeline/calendar for project coordination
  4. Collects and analyzes a variety of complex data and information, including utility costs and usage. Performs analysis and summarizes findings in applicable reports or other communication mediums
  5. Coordinates logistics, assignments and scheduling of work orders for technicians/custodians. Provides reports on work order/preventive maintenance to management and provides training as needed
  6. Approves special event requests that require set up from facilities. Gathers information from or makes requests of other employees, outside vendors, or the public in regards to events
  7. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures and maintains up to date knowledge of state and federal requirements for emergency preparedness. Prepares specialized reports and statistical data for agencies such as FEMA, HCTRA and CenterPoint
  8. Maintains updated records for all state and insurance semiannual and annual inspections, to include scheduling inspections and issuing of contracts and purchase orders
  9. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate’s degree and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with work order systems, building automation controls, Formstack and energyCap
Salary

Hiring salary range is $43,070 to $49,531.

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
