Title Assistant Coach of Strength & Conditioning Posting Number S01000JP Department Athletics Job Summary
The Assistant Coach of Strength and Conditioning will assist with physical fitness programs on campus. Special attention is paid to development and management of strength and conditioning programs for all varsity teams and overseeing the implementation of these programs; as well as management of the Buck Fitness Center. Other duties involve assisting students, faculty and staff with orientations for the Buck Fitness Center, helping with technique for strength and conditioning exercises, and guidance in putting together strength and conditioning programs. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Education/Skills Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physiology, or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred. Applicants must possess proven, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially when working with students; the ability to work as part of a collaborative team of coaches, trainers, and other health and wellness groups on campus; familiarity with common programs of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook); physical fitness and abilities to demonstrate strength and conditioning movements and skills. Current membership and certification in NSCA . NASM PES and USAW certification preferred. Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA and the NESCAC preferred. A minimum of two years as a Strength and Conditioning coach with secondary school athletes (collegiate student-athlete experience preferred) or similar experience is required. Must be able to comply with the College’s Motor Vehicle Policy. Standard Work Days and Hours
Generally, Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM with evening and weekend hours. About Bowdoin
