Responsibilities

Saint Mary's College of California is seeking a skilled Assistant Director for Admissions and Recruitment to provide support to the School of Liberal Art (SOLA) and School of Science (SOS) Graduate and Professional Study Program Directors with admission requirements. This person will report directly to the SOLA Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration. The Admissions and Recruitment Manager will be responsible for executing a variety of duties and working with a diverse group of internal and external constituents. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, organized, energetic, detail-oriented, demonstrates sound judgment, and possesses excellent written and oral communication skills. The role requires someone capable of managing their workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment. 1. Manage School of Liberal Arts (SOLA)and School of Sciences (SOS) Graduate and Professional Studies admission requirements; assist Program Directors with establishing consistent requirements; Assist potential students (external and internal) with the exploration and application process to the School of Liberal Arts and School of Science and stand-alone and +1 programs.

2. Manage the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) communication flow for Prospect/Inquiry funnel and Applicant funnel. Preference for candidates familiar with the Slate (CRM). Coordinate with Program Directors on Reader review process and releasing admissions decisions. Manage the NCAA coordinator position postings and application support for Kinesiology, in conjunction with Athletics, as an admissions strategy to increase student enrollment.

3. Implement recruitment events in cooperation with Program Directors and in consultation with Marketing and Recruitment Manager. Conduct open house events, including alumni events and educational fairs to maximize student enrollment.

4. Work with Program Directors and Assistant Dean to conduct research to inform and establish enrollment targets and tuition rate recommendations. Work with Program Directors and, when needed, assist students with financial aid applications. With research and information provided by faculty, help students to find fellowship, scholarship, and internship opportunities.

Experience and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: Education: REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree PREFERRED: Master's Degree

Preference for at least (3) three years of admissions and recruiting experience in higher education or three years of business experience. The ideal candidate will provide examples of successful strategies used to recruit and admit students into graduate programs. This might include effective recruitment tools, direct one-on-one interactions with potential students (internal and external), using direct outreach, social media, or other events/campaigns resulting in increased student admissions.

Skills/Abilities: (e.g. computer skills, written & verbal skills, trades, laws, procedures, technical) Demonstrated excellence in using Google suite, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and email; significant experience working with databases and knowledge of recruiting platforms; knowledge of CRMs , with Slate experience and skill preferred; ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments and meet demanding deadlines; ability to remain calm under pressure, establish priorities and work in an organized manner with emphasis on detail and accuracy; ability to work independently without close supervision and as a member of a team, seek consultation when necessary; high level of reliability, creativity and commitment to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with all members of a culturally diverse campus community; understanding of academic policy and administrative operations; ability to cultivate and maintain partnerships with diverse individuals, offices and programs; understanding of and commitment to further the College's mission; ability to respond immediately, kindly, and effectively to the flow of traffic, even during high-volume times when there might be multiple clients in a crowded space expecting a multiplicity of types of service.
