Job Description

Position:             Associate Director of Accreditation

Reports to:        Chief Accreditation Officer (CAO)

Secondary 
Supervisor:        President & CEO

Status:               Full-time, Exempt 40-hours per week

Basic Function

 

The Associate Director of Accreditation assists the CAO as well as the Boards of Commissioners with all related facets of the accreditation process and organizational responsibilities as necessary.

Position Pathway

The preferred pathway for this position is mapped towards ultimately becoming the CAO.

Essential Functions

 

  • Assist the CAO in evaluating preliminary questionnaires and self-studies for completeness and associated needs analysis; Assist the CAO with the preparation and presentation of material related to the standards and criteria for member institutions; Assist the CAO with the preparation and presentation of material related to the accreditation process, including process books, for the unified standards; Lead ACBSP’s training and continuing-education programming as a facilitator and presenter; Work in conjunction with the membership department in the recruitment of new members; Supervise the completion of tasks and responsibilities of accreditation leaders of member institutions; Oversee training of accreditation related programming during ACBSP Annual Conference; Review and maintain current listing of Evaluators/Contacts for availability to serve on site visit teams; Assign evaluators and team chairs to serve on site visit teams based on institution type and level of experience ensuring a balance of new and experienced evaluators; Assist in assigning mentors to schools in candidacy based on institution type, location, and level of experience; Maintain contacts with institutions in candidacy regarding mentor appointments to avoid any potential conflict of interest between the mentor and institution; Query the accreditation CRM and maintain contact with institutions scheduled for reaffirmation to answer questions and determine site visit cycle and specific dates for the site visit; Attend all meetings of the Associate Degree and Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners whether in-person or virtual; Serve as first point of contact for all correspondence related to evaluator activities; Review and edit all site visit feedback reports for completeness. Communicate with team chairs regarding feedback reports;  Take action as directed by the Boards of Commissioners and CAO; Oversee and supervise records within the accreditation portal of the ACBSP CRM; Ensure that stakeholders are notified of accreditation actions; Assist in member service activities including benchmarking surveys and peer review activities; Perform all duties in a cooperative manner with other staff members and volunteer leaders; Perform other duties as may be requested from time to time by the CAO and President & CEO.

Other Duties

 

  • Creating PowerPoint presentations within the ACBSP brand standards for various events and meetings; Present at Regional Conferences or other events and meetings; Serve as a liaison for organizational committees and outside associations and organizations; Write accreditation content for the ACBSP Impact magazine or other related publications or audiences; Create and administer spreadsheets, surveys, polls, and produce various reports within the scope of accreditation analytics.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree with a Doctorate preferred, though candidates pursuing a doctorate are eligible; Strong understanding of ACBSP Standards and Criteria; Capacity and interest in training adult learners; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Multitasking with an ability to establish priorities and work independently with minimal supervision; Ability to travel worldwide; Fluency in a second language other than English is helpful, but not required.
