Job Description:
Under general supervision, provide support for the day-to-day activities of the Department of Cell and Cancer Biology. Assist the department in maintaining the academic and economic operations as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
One (1) year related office support work experience required, Type speed of 30 WPM required
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Word, Excel and Power Point, required.
Required to be proficient in Banner, Lawson, mysp, Faculty 180 and Blackboard within 60 days of hire.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, required. Able to compose own correspondence and ability to gain confidence of others, required.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions in English, required.
Ability to calculate fractions, decimals and percentages an to read and write common English vocabulary, required.
Ability to compare data from a variety of sources for accuracy, required.
Demonstrate effective and culturally appropriate communications, required.
Ability to multi-task, be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills, required.
Required to perform multiple tasks at one time and prioritize as needed.
Required to adhere to UT professionalism and customer service values.
Required to maintain a good attendance record.
Dress in accordance to established guidelines, required.
Maintain confidentiality in regard to the department's operational process, required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in Business related degree or equivalent 5 years experience in secretarial office duties and accounting/budgeting, required
