Position Summary

The primary function of the person holding this position is to assist in the direction of the academic programs (both degree granting and endorsement/certification) and related administrative activities for the Department of Curriculum & Instruction within the College of Education under direction of the Chair. The person in this position reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position will help support the fiscal oversight of the department and assist with personnel actions, travel vouchers and purchasing. This person must maintain regular contact with Student Services, the Graduate School, Outreach Services, and the Office of Registration and Records.

This person must possess, or be able to develop, skills in comprehending the special technical requirements essential in working in a rapidly changing computer and technology environment. This person also has responsibility for handling confidential information and materials, including student academic records, faculty and instructors’ personnel file, hiring information and department reports.

This position utilizes word processing, spreadsheet, data base management, and other computer hardware and software and requires a good knowledge of computer use and applications.

Minimum Required Qualifications (Civil Service)

CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER

1.High school graduation or equivalent.

2.Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience comparable to the third level of this series.
