Job Description:

The Administrative Support Specialist provides advanced administrative support to the Comptroller. Specifically, this position provides support with scheduling, travel, auditing, budgeting, state and federal reporting, accounting transactions, invoicing and PCard administration and reconciliation. The Administrative Support Specialist uses advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, and make recommendations to accounting processes. This position performs a variety of duties which requires a working knowledge of the business affairs policies and procedures. Knowledge of Excel is required for accounting analysis. Because this position serves as the liaison between Accounting and College departments in relation to accounting, excellent communication, interpersonal and technical skills are essential. This position also supervises Work Study students. Reports to the Comptroller.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree, progressively responsible experience in document management, and demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Professional (including Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) in a networked office setting, and internet navigation. Successful results of a criminal background check.

*Per F.S. 295.065 – Certain servicemembers and veterans, and the spouses and family members of such servicemembers and veterans, will receive preference and priority, and certain servicemembers may be eligible to receive waivers for postsecondary educational requirements.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

ANNUAL SALARY: $32,550.00 ($16.70/hour)
