Job Description:

MCLA invites applications for a part-time Nursing Simulation/Skills Lab Coordinator for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program. The Nursing Simulation/Skills Lab Coordinator is an educational and technical expert who can develop, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair simulation and nursing skills lab equipment.

The successful candidate will work closely with nursing faculty members of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program, supporting the Program and curriculum for the BSN major. This essential staff member is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the simulation/nursing skills lab focusing extensively on facilitating student learning outcomes associated with prescribed course and program outcomes, implementation of the nursing curriculum, program evaluation and improvement; supports the philosophy of nursing program and supports the mission of the College.

Specific responsibilities: Responsibilities include scheduling, planning, and running simulation and nursing skills events. Other duties include preparation, cleaning, and storage of all simulation and skills lab equipment and technology before, during, and after student learning events. Maintaining simulation and skills lab inventory and recommend purchasing to Associate Dean of Nursing.

Additional responsibilities: Creates an educational environment which fosters innovation, responsiveness, and accountability. Provides program-specific expertise and is actively engaged in relevant department initiatives.

  • Hold a current Massachusetts Nursing License (LPN or RN) in good standing. RN Preferred.
  • Recent clinical experience in a specialty field; knowledge and experience in baccalaureate education preferred.
  • Skills lab and/or simulation experience preferred. Broad experience using various types of healthcare technology preferred
  • Ability to manage the equipment and technology necessary to optimize simulation in the Interprofessional Simulation Center. Experience with simulation technology preferred.

Additional Information:

This is a part-time (18.75 hours per week), benefits-eligible, 9 month position (paid over 12 months) in the APA bargaining unit. Salary range is dependent on the Massachusetts Nursing License held by the candidate, $35,000-$42,000 for LPN, up to $50,000 for RN.
