Visiting Part-Time Faculty Appointment in American Sign Language (ASL)

Description
The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a visiting part-time faculty position to teach two in-person course each semester in Deaf Studies/Sign Languages during the academic year 2022-2023 to begin in August 2022. Candidates should be able to teach at elementary, intermediate, or advanced levels of ASL classes, following established curriculum and ACTFL's guidelines. This is in person.


Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching as informed by current practice related to American Sign Language in the field. They must hold a minimum of an MA in ASL pedagogy, applied linguistics, Deaf Studies, or related field: have a native ASL or an ASLPI proficiency level four or above; and have two years of ASL teaching experience at the college level as well as extensive knowledge of the Deaf culture and Deaf community.
