Assistant Director, Grants Post-Award

Coastal Carolina University is a dynamic public institution located in Conway, just minutes from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and is currently seeking applications to fill a critical position in the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Services (OSPRS).

Duties will include but not be limited to:    

  • Provides daily support for faculty, staff and student PIs with active sponsored programs; Coordinates with colleagues in other university departments (HREO, Procurement, Financial Services, Payroll, Graduate Studies, Provost’s Office, etc.) to ensure accurate, timely and efficient processing and resolution of post-award administrative matters; Reports grant and contract activities to the state budget and control board and maintaining all files for compliance; Works closely with Grants Accounting on financial issues, maintenance, reports and close-out procedures on funded projects; Provides mandatory subrecipient monitoring activities; Prepares and manages certification of all time and effort reporting for federally sponsored projects; Maintains and coordinates reporting with University Counsel on Title IX compliance for federal grant awards; Composes all award documentation and preparing account set-up request for new awards in the university financial, purchasing and contracting systems; Sets-up new awards/contracts in Cayuse grants management system; Provides PIs and all project key personnel with award documents, terms and conditions, budget guidelines and reporting requirements; Maintains, edits and updates post-award content and resources on the OSPRS website pages; Prepares grant and contract activity reports; Coordinates edits, data collection and reporting on the biennial OSPRS satisfaction survey; Assists the OSPRS Director in developing and delivering faculty and staff training; Attends professional development meetings, conferences, and workshops; Supervises the Grants Business Assistant position; In the absence of the Director, provides oversight and manages operations and staff for the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Services; and Performs other duties as assigned.

           

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and related experience are required. Experience with electronic grants management systems and with state, federal and private sponsor electronic grants management systems is preferred. Prior experience in public or private higher education, non-profit or government grant administration experience preferred. Familiarity with University and federal regulations, policies, and procedures, with website update and maintenance and experience creating materials and delivering training to adult learners also preferred.

SC State Pay Band: 06.  Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university and available for limited daily or overnight travel.
