Job Description:


Provide Brazilian Portuguese - based instruction for a variety of Early Childhood Education (ECE) courses, which may include: ECE 100 Introduction to Early Childhood Education (3 credits), ECE 110 Child Growth and Development (3 credits), and ECE 201 Preschool Curriculum Planning (3 credits) during the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters. All instruction for these sections (ECE 100, ECE 110, and ECE 201) will be conducted in Brazilian Portuguese, including: a) lectures, b) speaking, c) reading, d) writing, and e) course assessments. These courses will be offered via a remote modality, meeting one evening per week via Zoom with all learning materials delivered on the Moodle learning management system.


  1. Provide remote instruction utilizing educational technologies of Zoom and Moodle.
  2. Select and develop appropriate materials for class use to fulfill course learning outcomes.
  3. Track and assess student progress.
  4. Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
  5. Participate in ongoing professional development



  1. Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, or a closely related field, with appropriate areas of concentration.
  2. Fluency in Brazilian Portuguese.
  3. College-level teaching experience.
  4. Effective pedagogical, teaching, and presentation skills.
  5. Experience using evidence-based strategies to support student success including frequent communication and active learning.
  6. Experience in early childhood education field.
  7. Ability to create a classroom environment that engages students and supports learning.
  8. Skill in using technology to support the writing, teaching, and learning processes.

COMPENSATION : Anticipated salary Step I DCE pay scale. Part-time, non-benefited, Grant Funded, MCCC Unit position.
