Summary/Objective

The Residential Operations Coordinator provides logistical and administrative support for the Residence Life program by assisting with the planning and implementation of residence hall desk operations. Reporting directly to this position are 4 student staff Desk Coordinators.

Essential Functions
  1. Departmental Administrative Support: Responsible for all residential desk scheduling during the academic year, break, and holiday periods. Assist with the transition of the residential community desk from the academic year to summer conference. Lead processing payroll for student employees. Provide administrative support to Community Directors for residential community openings and closing. Assist with administrative support for Housing and Residence Office. Responsibilities include assisting with the coordination of large-scale department events, initiatives, and processes, records management, and scheduling.
  2. Professional and Student Staff Recruitment, Selection, and Training: Assist with departmental recruitment, select, training for professional and student staff members. Provide administrative support with data collection, reporting and evaluation of professional and student staff recruitment, selection, and training committees. Review and revise residential desk staff manuals, design and distribute training schedules, arrange speakers and presenters, and compile assessment and evaluation data. Coordinate logistics and manage relevant data for student staff selection and ensure the prompt processing and follow-up on staff applications and employment agreements.
  3. Customer Service: Provide customer service to students, parents, and guests to answer questions about housing policies and desk operations. Respond to all telephone, written, and personal housing inquiries.
  4. Other Duties as Assigned: Attend regularly scheduled Housing and Residence Life staff meetings. Attend regular one-on-one meetings with the Assistant Director of Residence Life.

Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 year of relevant experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in college residence hall management and/or student affairs.

  • Standard Office Software: Skill using email, word processing, spreadsheet/ data analysis and presentation development software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint while preparing briefings, reports, and presentations.
  • Ability to supervise work study employees and/or student volunteers.
  • Student-centered orientation and commitment to helping students be successful and experience a sense of belonging.
