Job Summary/Basic Function

The Course Materials Manager (CMM) oversees all aspects of the course materials lifecycle: faculty adoptions, ordering, sales, returns, and billing. The CMM shall supervise the Course Materials Adoptions Assistant.
  • Uses data analytics to assess and report program, system, and process effectiveness.
  • Partners with Maryville’s digital distribution provider and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of course materials to students.
  • Maintains a digital filing system of all invoices and purchases.
  • Coordinates the end of term, student account billing for all non-returned course materials.
  • Coordinate on campus support services for the beginning of each term to troubleshoot providing on campus service for digital content.
  • Responsible for efficient and accurate management of data and workflows to ensure a frictionless experience for end users.
  • Make recommendations for enhancements to communications, tools, capabilities and product lines to improve customer experience.
  • Train and support relevant internal and external stakeholders on using new and existing products, tools, and resources
  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external teams to facilitate enhancements and provide actionable feedback regarding communications, tools, capabilities, processes, and product lines
  • Prepare and support Business Reviews on a semester basis for the internal stakeholders
  • Responsible for making recommendations regarding policies and processes associated with the job’s purpose and essential responsibilities.
  • Exercises decision-making and judgment related to functional areas
  • Supervises the Course Materials Assistant Manager


Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Outlook.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience building relationships.
  • Excellent understanding of automation technologies and administrative information systems, including; Colleague, Sales Force and Canvas.
  • Extensive knowledge of publisher digital products and emerging academic resources
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and superior customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with University information systems, general knowledge of accounting and purchasing procedures.
  • Ability to navigate publisher courseware, digital content and simulations integrated through the LMS
  • Bachelor’s degree; 3-5 years supervisory experience
