Reporting to the Deputy Athletics Director, the Director of Athletics Ticketing will be responsible for the ticket operations for the Department of Athletics. This includes, but is not limited to: ensuring the proper setup of the basketball season in the Truist Arena ticket software, serve as the point of contact for all season ticket and mini-plan account holders for men’s and women’s basketball, and the development and implementation of a comprehensive ticket sales and operations plan that will generate revenue and attendance at athletic events. The Director of Athletics Ticketing is responsible for the day to day activities of NKU athletic ticketing, to include ensuring procedures are being followed to maintain integrity of internal controls for ticketing operations, sale, processing, and reporting of season, single game, and group basketball tickets, while ensuring a high level of customer service.

Compliance with NCAA rules is of the utmost importance at Northern Kentucky University. As a member of the athletics department staff it is expected that the Director of Athletics Ticketing will have a full understanding of the NCAA rules that pertain to the position. It is also expected that the Director of Athletics Ticketing will comply with all NCAA rules and if he/she becomes aware, or have reasonable cause to believe, that a violation of a rule has occurred he/she will immediately report it to the Director of Athletics or his/her designee.

Primary Responsibilities
Regular Duties Performed Daily or Almost Daily:
1. Oversee daily operations of the Athletics Ticket Office, including ensuring procedures are being followed to maintain integrity of internal controls for ticketing operations.
2. Develop and implement a comprehensive ticket sales plan for men’s and women’s basketball. Plan will focus on increasing season ticket, mini plan, group and individual game ticket sales.
3. Create and market ticket promotions designed to increase revenue and attendance at men’s and women’s basketball games.
4. Develop information packets and sales materials to be used in solicitations.
5. Conduct research and analyze data on an annual basis to develop ticket plans and revenue projections.
6. Identify and research prospective customers, creating ongoing networking opportunities, make connections and cultivate relationships with clientele to provide repeat business opportunities.
7. Make contact with prospects through in person connections, telephone and e-mail. Meet or exceed monthly sales goals while exceeding client expectations in value and customer service. Responsible for ongoing communication with current clients and ensure client satisfaction.
8. Communicate to the Deputy Athletic Director through oral and written reports on the progress of ticket sales and revenue generation.
9. Coordinate season ticket renewals for men’s and women’s basketball with the Truist Arena Box Office Manager.
10. Work closely with the Truist Arena Box Office Manager on the logistics to set up basketball season in ticket system. This includes, but is not limited to providing game information, ticket pricing (package, individual and group), different types of packages that will be available for sale, etc.
11. Serve as the point of contact for all men’s and women’s basketball season ticket and mini-plan account holders. Communicate with account holders on a regular basis, providing information on upcoming games, deadlines for ticket renewals, information regarding upcoming special events, etc.
12. Hire, train and evaluate a ticket sales team. Sales staff will be comprised of undergraduate and graduate interns, as well as temporary part-time staff.
13. Direct and coordinate Northern Kentucky University Athletic relationships with local school districts to include promoting special athletic events and Kid’s Club, while coordinating special appearances and community outreach with the schools by Northern Kentucky University Athletics.
14. Responsible for processing, printing, and distribution of season tickets, mini plans, group tickets, and single game tickets.
15. Work with the Truist Arena Box Office Manager to resolve escalated issues on game day in a timely and professional manner, staying within NKU’s ticketing policies.
16. Provide game day support for current clients, including implementation and activation of group incentives.
17. Coordinate complimentary tickets through Jump Forward for various constituents, including NKU Athletics staff, pass lists and other special requests. Maintain accurate records for complimentary tickets processed. Assist in the reconciliation of complimentary tickets listed on event audit to ticket requests.
18. Assist in the cultivation and stewardship of donors to the Go Norse Fund by focusing on season ticket holders who currently are not members or have the financial capacity to increase their membership level.
19. Expected to successfully collaborate with a number of on-campus entities working on behalf of athletics (i.e. Marketing/Communications, Printing Services, Advancement Services, Alumni Association, Procurement Services, etc.)
20. Provide a positive and professional presence in the community, including community event appearances, school visits, and youth basketball league involvement.

Occasional Duties Performed:
1. Travel to select road games based upon donor/alumni function(s) as well as post-season play as determined by the Deputy Athletic Director. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
Experience in sales, including cold calling
Experience working within a ticket system
Experience in customer service
Preferred Qualifications:
Master Degree
Experience in athletic ticket sales
Experience with Ticketmaster software
