Job Description:

The Department of Neuroscience at the UF Scripps Biomedical Research, a division of University of Florida is seeking outstanding applicants for tenure-track faculty positions at all levels. This is a full-time, twelve-month, 1.0 FTE tenured track faculty position. We invite applications from ambitious and interactive investigators from all areas of modern neuroscience applying molecular, genetic, biochemical, biophysical, cellular anatomical, and behavioral approaches to elucidate the mechanisms underlying nervous system function and its disorders. The Department of Neuroscience at UF Scripps offers a dynamic environment and are committed to providing a multi-disciplinary, collaborative atmosphere for fostering cutting edge neuroscience research. Current strengths of the Department include a range of genetic animal models to study neuronal structure and function, model neuropsychiatric disease, analyze neural circuit organization and behavior, as well as CNS drug discovery and development. We host substantial expertise in sensory neuroscience, addiction biology, learning and memory, neural control of metabolism and animal models of neurodegenerative, psychiatric and neurological diseases. The state-of-the-art facilities at the institute provide assistance with proteomics, next-generation sequencing, structural biology, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, medicinal chemistry, rodent behavior, and ultra high-throughput small molecule screening for drug discovery.

UF Scripps Biomedical Research shares its campus with a vibrant neuroscience community, which includes the world-renowned Max Plank Florida Institute for Neuroscience and the Florida Atlantic University Brain Institute. In addition, UF Scripps partners with The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA for graduate education running one of the most prestigious graduate programs in the country.

Expected Salary:

Salary is negotiable with an excellent benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a Ph.D. or M.D. in the areas of neuroscience or related field. At least 3 years of postdoctoral experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Evidence of research productivity and well formulated plans for launching or sustaining innovative research program.
