The Enrollment Services Specialist serves as the main admissions contact by responding to admissions inquiries in person, through email, and over the phone and processing admissions applications, contact changes, program changes, and Florida residency declarations. Responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s values of learning, people, student success, forward-thinking, commitment to excellence, accessibility, diversity, partnerships, and sound management practices.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to a diverse community of students. Provides office coverage for phones, email, chat, and walk-in students.
- Assist prospective, current, and former students, faculty, staff, and guests with admissions, records, and registration-related information. Help identify student questions and provide resolution.
- Accept and process all admissions, records, and registration-related forms based on LSSC policy and Florida State Statutes. Verify their completion and acceptability and enter the information into the Student Information System
Education Required: Associates degree from an accredited institution.
Experience Required: Two years of experience in clerical work including duties which include customer service experience.
Experience Preferred: 3-4 years of customer service experience, notary, experience with Banner
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
* Keyboarding speed of 45 wpm.
* Word processing and general computer/clerical skills.
* Ability to use problem-solving skills to assess and deal with difficult situations.
* Excellent customer service.
* Physical ability to operate a computer keyboard with a minimum of difficulty.
* Sufficient visual acuity to read printed and typed words and/or number quickly and accurately.
* Ability to receive, understand and execute oral and written instructions correctly.
* Ability to work well with minimum supervision.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and to deal tactfully and courteously, in person and over the telephone with coworkers, superiors, visitors and students.
* Ability to maintain a friendly, cheerful and helpful manner throughout the day despite busy, sometimes hectic, work conditions.
* Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
