Job Summary:

The Division of Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) is a full-spectrum service organization that builds, maintains, and operates the physical environment of the UW-Madison campus in support of the university's education, research, and outreach activities.FP&M works behind the scenes to coordinate campus planning, manage design and construction, maintain and operate buildings and grounds, supply utility services, ensure health and safety, and provide parking and transportation services. Our campus customers include anyone who works, studies, visits, or lives on campus.

Shop Scheduler at the Finishing Trades department is responsible for daily scheduling of maintenance, remodeling, and departmental projects for the UW-Madison facilities. This includes working with the shop planner to effectively and accurately schedule skilled trades and staff, coordinating logistics, and distributing work materials and equipment.

Responsibilities:

Plans, analyzes, manages, coordinates, and tracks projects and quality improvement efforts for processes, procedures, and systems. Provides management consulting to improve organizational results.
  • 60% Develops, schedules, coordinates, and prioritizes project work plans in accordance with specifications and resource limitations
  • 5% Develops, enhances, and maintains operational standards and systems to support project teams
  • 10% Analyzes data and trends, compiles progress reports, and provides appropriate recommendations or conclusions
  • 5% Establishes, monitors, coordinates, and controls project budgets versus actual expenditures and budget reporting
  • 5% Serves as the initial point of contact for the project(s), serves on committees, and attends meetings representing the interests of the project(s)
  • 15% Works with the shop planner to effectively and accurately schedule skilled trades staff. Meets daily to coordinate logistics and proper distribution of work materials and equipment

Education:

Qualifications:

Minimum of two years of scheduling experience preferred
Excellent customer service and organizational skills required
