Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $3,276 - $3,505 per month

Full classification Salary Range: $3,276 - $5,148 per month
  • This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position

Job Summary

The Basic Needs Administrative Coordinator works under the general supervision of the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services and lead work oversight of the Lead Clinical Case Manager. The incumbent performs a full range of secretarial and administrative support functions and assists students in optimizing their educational experience while minimizing the impact of basic needs and personal distress on students' academic careers. Provides a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment for all students and provides support to students in need of food, housing and financial insecurities.

Through the Good Samaritan Grant and other grants that may arise, the incumbent coordinates emergency housing placement, meal vouchers and gift card distribution using sound judgment and working closely with Clinical Case Managers and other staff within the Student Health and Counseling Center and on campus. The incumbent serves as a liaison to a wide range of services that make up the basic need initiatives and connects students with campus and/or community resources related to meeting their basic needs such as emergency housing, Good Samaritan Grant, student cupboard and various other resources.

Key Qualifications
  • Ability to maintain current knowledge of Basic Needs resources for on and off campus, and other student services.
  • Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects.
  • Ability to apply independently a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist.
  • Ability to collect, compile, analyze and evaluate data related to program services and processes.
  • Ability to perform standard business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, track financial data, and make simple projections.

Education and Experience
  • Completion of a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents and two years of related office or administrative work experience.
