Suffolk University's Performing Arts Office seeks experienced danceteacher/choreographerto supportPasionLatina, a student lead Latin dance group. The advisor will provide artistic and functional direction, and foster student leadership. Responsible for developing and teaching a repertoire Latin dances, including Salsa, Bachata, Meringue, Kizomba, Regatone/Dembow.Experience with selecting, and mixing/editing music is preferred, but not required.The advisor will provide support and guidance to this energetic student group in auditions, music and style selection, choreography, performance technique, show production, etc.
Experience in teaching and choreographing multiple styles of Latin dance and working with dancers from a variety of backgrounds is required.Rehearsal are Tuesdays evenings and Sundays.
The Performing Arts Office is a co-curricular program that supports student involvement and leadership through the arts serving the Suffolks downtown Boston campus. We advise and coach student performing arts groups and produce campus arts events.
Pay is $2000 / semester. Time commitment is approximately 5 hours per week.
