Required Qualifications:

• M.A., M.S., or M.Ed. degree in Special Education, or related field. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of master's degree by August 1, 2022.
  
• A valid California Clear/Professional teaching credential
  
• An excellent record of teaching or demonstrated potential for teaching excellence at the college level appropriate to the assignment
  
• Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and dispositions related to culturally responsive practices
  
• Experience teaching in urban K-12 schools
  
• Teacher leadership experience
  
• Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population
  
  Preferred Qualifications:
  
• Experience working with students with significant support needs
  
• Experience supervising Education Specialist credential candidates
  
• Training and/or experience teaching across the following subject areas: Instruction for multilingual learners with disabilities; Diversity and inclusive schools; Instruction for students with significant support needs; Advocacy for students and families; Disability studies
  
• Demonstrated experience working with populations demographically and socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body
  
  Duties:
  
• Program Coordination of the Education Specialist Program including admissions, advising, coursework, fieldwork, and assessment of candidates
  
• Attend regular meetings at the department, college, regional and state level related to credentialing
  
• Support students to meet credentialing requirements, including Teacher Performance Assessments
  
• Teach courses and/or supervise credential candidates in the subject areas: Instruction for multilingual learners with disabilities; Diversity and inclusive schools; Instruction for students with significant support needs; Advocacy for students and families; Disability studies. [Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof.]
  
• Participate in service and attend department faculty meetings and Education Specialist Credential Program meetings
