Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator will provide educational, intellectual and compliance leadership to support the University's Office Equity and Diversity. The core responsibilities are policy and strategic program development and implementation of recruitment and retention initiatives; coordination and evaluation of programs; and assisting with building an inclusive and supportive culture and climate by strengthening and establishing relationships of key constituents. The position requires maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion in all situations and circumstances.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent • 1 year of experience in program development and implementation;
• Experience explaining policies and procedures;
• Experience editing and writing business correspondence using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials;
• Experience working with computer software programs for word processing, data management, event planning and presentations;
• Experience presenting to audiences small and large;
• Experience working with underrepresented populations.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, with a preference for a terminal degree;
• Experience in program development and implementation in an academic environment;
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills;
• Experience in grant writing and compliance;
• Knowledge of University of Idaho strategic plans, mission, structures, resources, policies, and procedures;
• Ability to establish and maintain effective cooperative working relationships with departments, administration, external agencies and other organizations; Tribal governments and agencies;
• Knowledge of Tribal cultural protocols;
• Demonstrated knowledge of Native American education policies;
• Demonstrated knowledge of regional Tribal infrastructure, cultures, and federal and Tribal sovereignty issues.
