General summary/purpose:

The Technical Management Officer will provide support across the AlignMNH Initiative, particularly around knowledge sharing and evaluation. AlignMNH seeks to align global maternal and newborn health advocacy, metrics, financing and action in support of accelerated improvements in MNH and well-being in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). Inclusive of a bi-annual conference series and an online Knowledge Hub and guided by an international Steering Committee of 20 thought leaders, AlignMNH enables the MNH community to effectively and efficiently share new evidence, identify opportunities and gaps, track progress, cultivate supportive networks, and galvanize energy in the MNH community. The Technical Management Officer will support the Knowledge Hub, including the development and packaging of content, identification of opportunities for dissemination, and day to day management of the site in collaboration with selected vendors. The Technical Management Officer will also support monitoring and evaluation activities for AlignMNH in addition to providing technical and programmatic support across other initiative activities.

Specific duties & responsibilities:

    Lead the day-to-day management of the AlignMNH Knowledge Hub, including but not limited to: Posting new content, updating existing content, maintaining the resource library, home page, and checking links across the site Management of processes/systems for identifying and uploading new, relevant resources to the Knowledge Hub Vendor management of relevant Knowledge Hub vendors (web developers, graphic designers), including overseeing project timelines/deliverables, approving contractual outcomes, and participating in coordination meetings Development of systems/management tools for the resource library, media library, and other back-end processes Post new blogs Update the featured resources on the homepage as new content is made available on the site Support the development and implementation of new content on the Knowledge Hub: Provide technical support in packaging and developing content for the AlignMNH Knowledge Hub, drawing upon user-informed insights, behavioral economics, and best practices for knowledge management and dissemination. Support in curating the issue collections and helping to ‘right size’ the content for the AlignMNH audience Identify opportunities to highlight and feature new content on the site Coordinate with AlignMNH Communications & Technical Teams to ensure coordinated content in alignment with the strategic roadmap Coordinate with additional AlignMNH stakeholders (e.g. Steering Committee, Country Liaisons, IMNHC Committees, donor partners, or partner organizations) to develop content for the Knowledge Hub Support the development of new site features in coordination with the new web vendor: Coordinate the prioritization of needs across the AlignMNH site in partnership with the AlignMNH Team, developing a new development timeline with the selected vendor Support the development of a new site taxonomy (including both front-end and back-end tagging of content) in coordination with the selected vendor Lead the development of a new layout on the issue collections that is more user-friendly and accessible Support the user-informed design process to ensure that the Knowledge Hub is responsive to user feedback: Work with the AlignMNH Team and other Jhpiego Staff to identify opportunities for user-informed design, human-centered design, or behavioral economics Support the development of user-informed design activities Support the application of outcomes from user-informed design activities to the Knowledge Hub, including the identification of new tools or opportunities for interactivity Participate, as needed, in focus group discussions about the site functionality and accessibility Provide support to the technical content and curation of resources on the AlignMNH site: Support the AlignMNH Team in identifying strategic priorities for the site Support coordination with AlignMNH partners on new issue collections, resources, or blogs Support the monitoring and evaluation activities across AlignMNH: Coordinate with the technical lead to finalize the theory of change and collect indicators across AlignMNH activities Support the tracking of performance across activities Identify opportunities to improve performance Provide management, coordination or other support to additional project components as needed, including the international conference series and advocacy activities to ensure effective and efficient project implementation.

Qualifications:

    Advanced degree in public health or related field with 3 years’ related experience OR BA and 5 years’ related experience Knowledge of global MNH issues, including familiarity with the MNH landscape and key stakeholders Highly motivated and confident, ability to work independently and in close harmony with many diverse groups and individuals Demonstrated superior organizational skills and excellent written and oral communication skills with diverse groups Impeccable communications and ability to communicate with high-level stakeholders Demonstrated experience coordinating among multiple stakeholders preferred Experience with donor reporting and project management, including financial monitoring and tracking expenses preferred Demonstrated capacity to quickly learn new technical content Certified in PM@Jhpiego (Jhpiego’s internal project management curricula) or PMD Pro (or will be within 60 days of hire) Ability to synthesize technical content, draft well-written materials and to develop compelling and visually appealing presentations Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Sound judgement and ability to anticipate problems and identify solutions Experience with knowledge sharing and digital outreach strategies preferred Experience with monitoring and evaluation of global health programs preferred Familiarity with Office 365 with strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills Familiarity with WordPress preferred
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 20% of the time

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
