Job Duties

• Performs general lab experiments including sterile technique, bacterial culture, electrophoresis, DNA extraction and analysis.
• Makes buffers and reagents precisely and reliably following standardized operation procedures.
• Handles chemicals and conduct biological experiments.
• Accurately records data and uses analysis skills.
• Closely follows the lab safety rules and practice.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctoral Degree. Experience may not be substituted in lieu of degree.
• Three years of post doctoral research experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cell culture experience including transfection.
• Animal handling experience will be a plus.
• Experience with one or more of the following: PCR, RT-PCR, RNA extraction and analysis, fermentor/ bioreactor operation, column chromatography, protein purification, large scale plasmid purification, fluorescence microscopy, FACS, Lab Management skills including Lab safety.

Skills

• Familiar with Microsoft Office products especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
