Job Summary
The School of Education is engaged in an innovative effort to create new partnerships for addressing issues in education including the teacher pipeline. We are seeking an energetic and inventive individual to join the School's faculty and administration in securing external funding to support these efforts. This is a one year, fixed terminal academic staff position, reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, with possibility for renewal if awarded external grant funding. This position will be considered for hybrid or fully remote work, depending on applicant location and need.

Duties include:
  • Executes research administration operational policies and procedures including financial, administrative, staffing, and compliance on behalf of a school/college/division
  • Reviews and approves programmatic transactions spanning the life-cycle of sponsored projects to ensure compliance with institutional and/or sponsor policies and procedures
  • May supervise the day-to-day activities of research administration staff
  • Serves as a key resource to leadership and staff in the unit as well as a liaison to partners and stakeholders
  • Executes activities related to proposal submission, contract negotiation, and/or award setup on behalf of a unit
  • Executes activities related to financial compliance, audit, or reporting on behalf of a unit
  • Provides training to faculty, staff, and/or administrators within the unit regarding policy, procedure, and/or execution of sponsored project administration
  • May have authority to submit proposals, agreements, or invoices to a sponsor on behalf of the principal investigator or project director

Minimum Qualifications
Qualified applicants must have:
  • Demonstrated success in grant writing
  • Masters degree in a related field
  • Evidence of strong written communication skills as determined by application materials


Preferred Qualifications
Preference for applicants who have:
  • Demonstrated success working with research teams
  • Experience managing research projects post-award
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines and to prioritize projects/tasks
  • Knowledge of education and educational systems
  • Evidence of strong oral communication skills as determined by application materials
