In addition to providing general office support, e.g., answering calls, emails, and live chats, and providing support to program administrators, the Accounting Assistant 1 is responsible for managing all student accounts, billing, and payment applications, processing student financial assistance, data/document processing, and processing faculty and guest speaker payments.

Qualifications
Associates degree. Bachelor’s preferred. 4-5 year’s of experience working in a business or higher ed office environment.

Job Specific Qualifications
Familiarity with accounting principles (reconcile daily ledger/journal entry adjustments); Expert knowledge of Excel, Mac Office; Knowledge about PeopleSoft (completing RAPS, MyCode adjustments, etc.); Ability to multitask (i.e., prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects), handle high volume projects, and be self-motivated; Ability to be a team player; Demonstrates acute attention to detail (e.g., payment processing etc.); Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to handle confidential information and sensitive materials, e.g. credit card information, checks, etc.; Comfortable working with general office equipment, e.g., multi-line telephones, scanners, multifunction copiers/printers, etc.

Responsibilities
Manage Accounts Receivable: Generate Invoices and expedite mailing; Coordinate Parent/Student Welcome Letters and Bulk Distributions to be mailed; Generate billing spreadsheets and invoice high schools and students.

Apply payments to accounts; conduct reconciliation of online payment; complete MyCode adjustments as needed.

Maintain and reconcile General Ledger months; Monitor financial holds lists.

Provide Office Support: Establish Financial Assistance.

Process payments for faculty, visitors, presenters.
