Provides professional and technical assistance regarding poison
information and potential poisoning exposures.
Pay Grade Maximum
* Receives calls related to potential poisonings and obtains an
accurate history of exposure. * Calculates patient's level of
exposure and determines if patient is in range of toxicity using
appropriate formulas. * Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates
an age appropriate plan of care utilizing approved poison center
protocols and the Micromedex healthcare series software package. *
Communicates treatment information to healthcare professionals or
the general public seeking poison center services. * Provides
information regarding identity and treatment of toxins and drugs to
all healthcare personnel. * Conducts/follow up calls in accordance
with established policy and procedure. * Documents collected
information in an on-line database.

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the
individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring
department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional

+ Graduated from an approved accredited nursing
+ Current RN license in the
State of Texas or have the ability to transfer your license to
Texas. Certification as a Specialist in Poison Information from the
American Association of Poison Control Centers. +Experience
At least two years of experience.
