Duties and Responsibilities
Loyola University Medical Center, Department of Radiation Oncology, seeks a post-doctoral fellow to perform research in the Division of Medical Physics. The successful candidate should have a PhD in physics, medical physics, electric engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science or related field. Candidates having the following background are desired: (a) strong skills in data acquisition, process and analysis in imaging; (b) interest in applying machine learning and artificial intelligence to problems in radiation oncology; © computer programing skills with knowledge of Python and Matlab; (d) ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Strong oral and written communication skills are also desired, and experience with DICOM and image processing is plus.

The Department of Radiation Oncology is located in Loyola Outpatient Center. The Department has a variety of state-of-the-art equipment including the Varian Edge, two Varian TrueBeam, Varian 2100EX linac, two multi-slice CT scanners, a Zeiss x-ray intraoperative radiation therapy INTRABEAM, and a GammaMed Plus High Dose Rate Brachytherapy unit. Treatment planning software consists of Varian Eclipse and BrachyVision. Aria software is used for the radiation oncology information management system. The Department has 5 faculty physicists, 4 clinical physicists and a medical physics residency program.
