ATTENTION:

The College of Arts and Communications at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a Director of Events and Marketing, (Marketing Manager, CM014).

Academic staff positions are provided fixed term appointments with annual renewals unless otherwise noted. Reappointment for subsequent terms is dependent upon performance, university funding and external forces.

JOB DETAILS:

The College of Arts and Communication is comprised of five departments (Art and Design, Communication, Music, Theater/Dance and Media Arts and Game Development); Crossman Gallery and Young Auditorium. This position is responsible for marketing the major events of the academic programs and for advising on a number of recruitment activities of the departments. The Director of Marketing and Events reports to the Dean of the College.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years experience in marketing, communications or art management
Desired Characteristics:
  • Demonstrated experience in graphic design
  • Experience in a university setting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Responsbilities:
  • Budget and Financial Management
  • Event Management and Coordination
  • Supervision of student staff and volunteers
  • Work with the College departments on recruitment initiatives
  • Represent the College across campus at meetings that pertain to marketing initiatives.
  • Marketing, publicity and social media management

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Well-qualified candidates can expect a salary in the range of $50,000-$55,000.

CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT:

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater does not offer H-1B or other work authorization visa sponsorship for this position.
