This full time Counselor position includes providing individual and
group counseling, psychoeducational workshops, and contributing to
the development and implementation of programming specifically
focused on equity and inclusion. PCC counselors guide students in
meeting their respective educational, personal, social and
vocational goals, using judgment consistent with standards of the
licensing boards and state and federal guidelines, and based upon
adequate knowledge of counseling practices, methods, techniques,
interpersonal relationships and community resources. Counselors
provide prevention, outreach and intervention services, and
participate in committees and/or college service.
These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for
success in this position.
Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on
the demonstration of these qualifications.
- Experience working in a college counseling center or similar
- Ability to provide brief, effective individual and group
counseling and psychoeducational programming
- An understanding of service assessment and evaluation
- A clear and working understanding of issues of social justice,
racism, oppression and bias, and the subsequent impact of these
phenomena on PCC students.
- Demonstrated skills and training specifically focused on
supporting the needs of students of color, students from indigenous
communities, LGBTQIA students, international students, students
from diverse religious affiliations, undocumented students,
students with disabilities, first generation college students,
and/or military veterans on a college campus
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum
qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and
end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week
Master's degree (or higher) in Counseling, Counseling Psychology,
Social Work, or related clinical degree required. Degree must be
from an accredited institution.
Two years of experience providing clinical personal, psychosocial
and/or career development counseling. Internship experience may be
Active, unrestricted professional practice license or registered as
a professional level intern and within 400 practice hours of
licensure prior to the start date.
Starting Salary Expectations
Initial Salary Placement will be up to Step 3 ($62,665) based
on related experience, per PCC's collective bargaining
Position Grade Salary Range
$58780 to $99564 Annual Salary
PCC offers a comprehensive benefit package designed to provide

employee's Individual Account Program under PERS/OPSRP. A portion
of the 6% will be diverted to The Employee Pension Stability
Account as mandated by Senate Bill 1049. PCC offers a tax deferred
annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees
may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement.
Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for courses offered at
PCC for yourself, domestic partner, and dependent children under 24
years of age; plus partial tuition reimbursement for yourself at
other accredited institutions.
* Please note: Temporary Full-Time Faculty are not eligible for
Personal Leave Days, Life Insurance, Long-term Disability, or
1 day of sick leave for every 18 days worked (~10 per year)
