Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide scheduling support, manage mail, provide reminders,
suggestions, and input in all facets of office management for the
dean and college office.
- Maintain communication flow by providing administration support
for the dean and other college departments.
- Coordinate external program reviews and fulltime faculty
searches.
- Design and perform research essential for college planning and
decision-making.
- Initiate and coordinate activities, projects, and events for
the college in support of the University mission, including the
annual awards banquet, conferences and workshops.
- Coordinate with various campus constituencies to enhance the
college's recruitment literature; publicize the achievements of the
college's students, faculty, and graduates; and to develop and
publicize effective career preparation programs for students in the
college.
- Assist in recruitment efforts for programs in the
college.
- Maintain files and inventory and ordering as appropriate.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, correspondence and other
documentation as required.
- Organizing workflow and developing/overseeing filing systems
(paper and digital)
- Assist with catalog updates to ensure catalog accuracy.
- Facilitate text and material orders.
- Hire and supervise student assistants.
- Coordinate office relocations
- Collect and review internship and independent study
paperwork
- Coordinate exam scanning
- Participate in service via staff or all-college
committees.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma/GED required, Bachelor's Degree
preferred
- Work experience in an academic setting
- 3-5 years' administrative experience, preferably in higher
education
- Experience with large-scale event planning
Technology Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite proficient
- Ability to learn and effectively utilize the University's
computing and workflow processes, scheduling software, etc.
Human Relations Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the
University mission.
