Position Summary

Reports to the Head Baseball Coach and Director of Athletics. Assist the Head Baseball Coach with various aspects of the varsity baseball program; i.e., coaching, recruiting,
and game/practice management and fundraising. The assistant baseball coach will adhere to RMAC rules, regulations, and NCAA Division II bylaws. In addition, the assistant baseball coach will represent MSU Denver in a positive manner and continue to uphold the program’s philosophies and the athletic department’s core values.

Duties/Responsibilities

Coaching (40%) – Game/Practice Management (20%) – Recruiting (15%) – Scheduling/Travel Coordination (10%) – Academic Monitoring (5%) – Organizing Camps/Clinics (5%) – Other Duties as Assigned (5%)

Specific Responsibilities:

• Assist Head Coach in coaching team (Practice planning, individual workouts, game strategy, scouting reports, etc…)
• Assist in developing and implementing training and game plans.
• Academic Coordinator via study hall, class attendance, class registration and progress towards graduation.
• Recruiting Coordinator via events (i.e. tournaments, showcases, games and camps) scheduling, organizing unofficial/official visits, tryouts etc…
• Travel Coordinator via scheduling flights, charter buses, rental vehicles, hotels, meals, training times, etc…
• Game day liaison with visiting opponents via scheduling training times, providing visitor guide and preparing NCAA Game Rosters.
• Assist in scouting and video analysis.
• Assist Head Coach in the organization and implementation of fundraising opportunities, (which include, but are not limited to camps/clinics, facility rentals, Rockies 50/50 raffle, Red & Blue Fund, etc…)
• Assist in community service projects.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree
Previous competitive and/or coaching experience in the specified sport
