Job Description:

Amherst College invites recent Amherst graduates to apply for the Green Dean Data Analyst position. The Green Dean Data Analyst is a full-time, two-year term position, starting at $18.59/hour - commensurate with experience. Given Amherst's distinction as one of the most diverse liberal arts colleges in the country, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ways in which they bring value to and will work towards supporting a broadly diverse community.

The Green Dean Data Analyst is a two-year term position in the Office of Human Resources for a recent college graduate (with a preference for Amherst College alumni). The analyst conducts analysis and research on a wide variety of topics as assigned by the Sr Director HR Strategy and Operations or other members of the CHRO's leadership team.

This is an opportunity for Amherst College graduates to gain real-world experience in the areas of human capital management. The analyst will compile and analyze HR data and present reports on their findings to senior HR leadership. The Analyst will work toward supporting an intentionally inclusive campus community.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis at the unit and college-wide level
  • Benchmark Amherst College's data/results with peers using private and public sources
  • Conduct analyses to respond to ad-hoc queries and requests

HR Functional Support
  • Assist in data clean-up efforts
  • Research, analyze, and investigate issues related to HCM Workday data
  • Work with a diverse set of campus partners
  • Assist in the Workday HCM Health Check

  • Perform ad-hoc projects to support the policies and decision-making of the CHRO's leadership team


  • BA degree
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to think critically
  • Strong orientation to detail and accuracy, qualitative skills, and verbal and written communications skills
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, organized and proactive
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Strong time-management skills including the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects concurrently
  • Commitment to or experience working with a diverse community

  • BA from Amherst College
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and an aptitude to learn other database tools and concepts
