The Department of Government of Claremont McKenna College (CMC) invites applications for a tenure-track position, at the early assistant professor level, in the subfield of international relations with a focus on transnational issues such as climate change, global health, or migration, beginning July 1, 2023. A qualified candidate would have a PhD in political science in hand or a nearly completed doctoral dissertation, and the capacity to teach core courses in international relations.

The candidate must have demonstrated ability to maintain an active, high quality research program and the highest standards of excellence in teaching. The teaching load at CMC is two courses per semester.

Given our commitment to cultivating a challenging and inclusive educational environment, we seek candidates who can demonstrate a commitment to teaching, mentoring, and inspiring students representing a broad range of socioeconomic backgrounds, political opinions, genders, races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, and religions.
