Position: Director of Workforce Innovation & Industry Partnerships

 

Working closely with the Vice President of Economic Mobility & Workforce Innovation and reporting to the Dean of Career & Professional Development, the Director of Workforce Innovation & Industry Partnerships has two core responsibilities: (1) design in-demand workforce development training programs; and (2) develop and execute an impact-oriented employer and industry engagement strategy for the institution. This role is ideal for someone who is interested in joining RCC’s new division of Economic Mobility & Workforce Innovation at an exciting time for the institution.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Industry Partnerships

    Develop and execute an institutional industry engagement strategy Design responsive workforce development programs tied to industry need Broker relationships with employers to increase career-connected learning opportunities for degree-seeking students Strengthen RCC’s brand and deepen industry relationships in Rockland County and the Hudson Valley

 

Workforce Innovation

    Participate in the design and implementation of an innovation hub to build collaborative relationships with faculty and industry partners to increase career-connected learning Conduct research to evaluate the viability of new and existing workforce development training programs Continuously perform program reviews with internal and external stakeholders Manage customized training and general interest activities within the department
 

Fiscal and Operational Management

    Work with the campus community to integrate processes to ensure a one-student college model Direct accreditation efforts and or approvals Support revenue generation through grant development and employer-sponsored partnerships Perform other duties as assigned
 

Required Qualifications/Experience:

The preferred candidate will have earned a Master’s degree and have at least 5 years prior experience developing partnerships between colleges and industry to advance workforce development innovation. Must have strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and possess the ability to work with a diverse population, including faculty, staff, students, business and industry leaders, and workforce development and continuing education leaders. Experience developing successful workforce development training programs. Track record of partnership development with industry leaders. Experience managing large scale projects that require a great deal of breadth and depth. Data-driven and impact-oriented. An understanding of community colleges, SUNY, and the Hudson Valley regional economy is strongly preferred
