Job Summary

Reporting to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, the Director of Undergraduate and Graduate Recruitment and Enrollment is responsible for recruitment tactics that will support and build robust enrollment in the 20 undergraduate and 19 graduate programs of Drexel University's College of Arts and Sciences (COAS), resulting in enrollment growth, diversity, increased selectivity and rising yields. The Director is expected to work closely with the College Marketing and Communications team, Associate Deans, Academic Departments, the Offices of Finance, and University’s Enrollment Management, among others.

Essential Functions
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population, including international students
  • Create a comprehensive, integrated and targeted recruitment strategy that includes in-person, print and digital tactics to produce increased enrollment outcomes
  • Ensure an extensive understanding of the College's brand, initiatives, academic programs and faculty, as well as the University's admission procedures, scholarship opportunities and other issues of concern, to provide prospective and admitted students and their families with a clear understanding of the "Drexel Difference"
  • Work closely and proactively with the University's Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS) team to dovetail and leverage their recruitment efforts to produce improved enrollment goals
  • Develop and deliver on- and off-campus recruitment initiatives, including high school presentations, recruitment fairs, Open Houses, etc., to best represent the College and its programs and to address the needs of prospective student
  • Meet with and counsel prospective students and their families; provide admissions and program information
  • Coordinate and provide leadership to individual recruitment activities with college academic programs, including internal programs for high school students, as well as other program-specific recruitment efforts
  • Organize and maintain an ongoing group of student representatives from all disciplines to best represent the College at recruitment events
  • Deliver regular recruitment reports to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Marketing & Communications team, Associate Deans, and Department Heads to capture and assess the effectiveness of outreach activities
  • Effective and strategic deployment of recruitment budget
  • Provide supervision and leadership to staff within the College recruitment team
  • In collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team, develop, maintain, and continually enhance the communication plans for undergraduate and graduate programs
  • Remain competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, and attending professional development courses and trainings
  • Additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education enrollment management
  • Self-directed individual, with strong customer service focus
  • Must be able and willing to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Creative and strategic thinker
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines
  • Experience and comfort presenting to large groups
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • Ability to build, grow, utilize, and analyze databases of prospective students
  • Superior organizational and interpersonal skills; experience working with diverse populations; competency for analyzing related data and assessing success of programmatic initiatives
  • Thorough understanding of the latest uses of technology in the recruitment process
  • Superior writing and editing skills to help create a range of recruitment marketing materials
  • Well versed in and comfortable using various social media platforms for recruitment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superb interpersonal skills to succeed in extensive face-to-face meetings with prospective students and parents, and in working with the College and University's extensive network of faculty, alumni, and administrators
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Experience using Banner, Hyperion, and/or Slate software is preferred
  • Experience in sales/coaching/marketing
  • Experience leading and/or coaching diverse teams
  • Experience working with graduate/professional student population a plus
