About the Thrift Library

The beautiful and spacious Thrift Library was completed in 2007 and named in honor of Sam and Tom Thrift. It was updated in 2017 to include a Learning Commons. There are ten group study rooms, two classrooms, a writing lab, a computer lab, special collections, the Center for Student Success, and seating for 400.

Adjacent to the library within the 53,000 sf multipurpose building is an art gallery, 110 seat multimedia room, coffee shop, post office, Center for Digital Learning and Innovation, and Office of Information Technology.

The library is a member of PASCAL, South Carolina’s consortium of academic libraries. All PASCAL libraries share a common library platform, ALMA, implemented in 2020. SC academic libraries work closely together to share resources, reduce costs, and engage in professional development.
