There is potential to renew the contract for a second year.

The Mathematical Sciences department offers hands-on faculty and student collaborative research opportunities as well as teach the patterns of decision-making and problem-solving, with an emphasis on developing critical thinking and communication skills in a cooperative environment. Our faculty prioritize teaching excellence and work collaboratively to support students who are passionate about social justice and aspire to use their education and training to lead and influence. There are opportunities to teach courses in mathematics, statistics or a combination of these topics. Responsibilities:

  • Teach in-person, online or hybrid mathematics and / or statistics lectures.
  • A typical course load for a full-time faculty member is three lectures or its equivalent per semester.
  • Foster a culture of inclusive excellence through authentic relationships with students as an educator, an advisor, and a mentor.
  • Engage in service to the department through participation in course assessments and student outcomes assessments.
  • Engage in scholarly activities involving students in the Department, Division, and profession.

Minimum Qualifications
  • ABDin statistics, mathematics, applied mathematics, or a related field
  • Thirty hours of graduate level coursework in statistics is required to teach graduate level statistics courses.
  • Experience teaching introductory mathematics, statistics, data science or computer science lectures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, applied mathematics, or a related field
  • Two (2) years of teaching experience in mathematics, statistics, data science or computer science.
  • Ability to teach and mentor diverse student populations.
