Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY
The Advising Center Supervisor will provide leadership for the operations of the Advising Center that includes supervision or (2) FT Advising Center Specialists and Student Employees, management of day-to-day operations and systems, foundational training on pathways advising, including approach and systems, and communications related to the center. Additionally, the incumbent assesses program operational needs and resources and initiates processes to direct the program toward the achievement of its objectives. Manages center technology needs, resources, and budget.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Advising Center Program Management

Creates and connects the interrelated areas of the holistic student experience, academic advising, curriculum, and transfer/articulation in order to provide accurate, timely information and user-friendly tools that will facilitate informed student planning. Collaborates with Advising and Career Services leadership to coordinate operations of the Advising Center office.

Participate in cross-functional advising initiatives; collaborates with Student Affairs, Office of Talent Strategy including Partnerships and Programs, Enrollment Management and Student Services, and Academic departments to provide the holistic student experience through establishing processes and best practices as well as connecting students to college partner services available.

Operational Leadership
Assigns and delegates tasks, provides direction, resolves issues, eliminates barriers, communicates job expectations, trains instructors and staff, and develops professional growth opportunities. Communicates and assists with the implementation of office strategies and priorities. Assists in recruiting and hiring and provides ongoing feedback and coaching.

Conducts annual employee evaluations, and recommends pay increases, promotions, and other personnel actions. Administers disciplinary actions upon approval, and in collaboration with Human Resources. Approves leaves and authorizes work schedule alterations as appropriate. Interprets, explains, carries out, and enforces the College's policies.

Responsible for scheduling advisor and specialists center and office hours, coordinating with Advising Directors to ensure program efficiency. Serves as a point of contact for Advising Center operations and communication.

Administrative
Provides detailed reports to direct evaluation of programs on a regular and as-need basis. Maintains confidentiality of college records, and maintains financial records, inventories, and other sensitive information. Reviews all programs for compliance and provides updates and documentation such as reports and presentations as directed. Assure appropriate supporting documents, forms, reports are filed accurately and promptly.

Completes and maintains required documentation including enrollment materials, course, section, and student records expense reports, and purchase requisitions per college and funder requirements.

Manages multiple assignments of varying complexity while meeting federal as well as internal regulations and procedures, with the ability to adapt to changing needs of the College and business partners. Hours may include working outside of a normal workweek schedule as needed to meet workload demands.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into a computer. The employee frequently sits, stands, and walks for periods of time. The employee converses verbally or manually with others in person as well as by telephone. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. The employee occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Five (5) years of progressive experience in analytics and experience working in higher education systems. Experience with supervision, customer services, advising, and coaching is preferred.

State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
