Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
This is a 75% teaching and 25% variable appointment with research and service activities. Primary teaching responsibilities will be undergraduate and graduate Agricultural Education courses. Ability to occasionally teach online with mainly traditional courses is to be expected. The selected applicant will be expected to publish regularly in peer-reviewed journals appropriate to the discipline of their research and to complete successfully for external funding to support a research program. The successful applicant will contribute to our growing undergraduate program and manage the various agricultural education teaching certification degree students. Additionally, duties include managing the Agricultural Education service program including oversight of the SHSU State FFA Leadership and Career Development Event scheduling.

Educational Requirements for the Position
An earned Doctorate in Agricultural Education or a closely related field. ABD candidates will be considered.

Experience Required for the Position
Opportunity for summer teaching is available each year. Ideally, three or more years of teaching experience in Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources at the secondary level is required. Demonstrated active LDE, CDE, SDE and other FFA management experiences are expected. Evidence of actual or potential success in teaching, research, and service is also expected. Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language are required. Must have a strong commitment to Agricultural Education at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as the ability to collaborate in multiple disciplines.
