Job Description Summary
A Post-Doctoral Fellow position is currently available in the laboratory of Dr. Paul Dyce at Auburn University (AU), in the Department of Animal Sciences. This is a funded position to study the reproductive advancement of the efficiency of forage-based beef production. Investigators in the Dyce lab utilize the molecular analysis of heifers with differing reproductive outcomes. The candidate will also get experience utilizing in vitro maturation, fertilization, and embryo development to study the advancement of reproductive technologies. We use a variety of in vivo, in vitro, and molecular biological techniques to better understand oocyte health and fertility. In addition to the above research focus, the successful candidate will have opportunities to participate in other lines of research, mentor undergraduate/ graduate students, and extension activities.
This is a benefit eligible, non-tenure track position. The appointment is for an initial period of one year with a possibility of continuance up to a maximum of four years depending on performance and funding availability.

Minimum Qualifications
The minimum qualification is an earned Ph.D. in animal sciences, biological sciences, or related field at the time employment begins. Relevant experience in reproduction, molecular biology techniques, and/or immunology required. The successful candidate will be expected to think critically, design and conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data, prepare manuscripts for publication, and assist with grant preparation and student training.
The individual selected for the position must be able to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States by the start date and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
Desired Qualifications
Desired qualifications include the following:
Expertise in immunofluorescent/immunohistochemical procedures (microscopy, imaging, data analysis), DNA, RNA and protein isolation and analysis ( PCR, qPCR, blotting/probing, histology), cell culture, IVF, ELISA -based assays, flow cytometry, and cattle handling experience.
