Through this network, we expand opportunities for flexible, student-centered learning and collaborative, solutions-focused research.

Northeastern's comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate programs— in a variety of on-campus and online formats—lead to degrees through the doctorate in nine colleges and schools. Among these, we offer more than 195 multi-discipline majors and degrees designed to prepare students for purposeful lives and careers.

About the Opportunity:
The successful applicant will have the knowledge to develop and teach Biotechnology courses at the Master's level. This position reports to the Director of the Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Programs.

Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor sought to teach full-time in the Professional Master of Science (PSM) in Biotechnology Program. This position is located at the Northeastern University Boston Campus. The Professional Master of Science (PSM) in Biotechnology Program is designed to allow students to pursue advanced training and excel in bioscience while simultaneously developing highly valued business skills.

The instructor will be responsible for teaching core biotechnology courses (Cell Culture Processes for Biopharmaceutical Production, Molecular Cell Biology for Biotech, and/or Protein Chemistry, Foundations in Biotechnology), and lead one of the defined program concentrations. Teaching responsibilities are subject to modification based on program needs and the time commitment of the service requirement, and are at the discretion of the Director of the Biotechnology Program.

Teaching Responsibilities include the following: review and learning of key teaching points within existing instructor guides, and a willingness to support high-quality teaching and standards through: preparation of lectures based on course materials provided; effective facilitation of rich, respectful debates and discussions in an in-person or online class; timely review and grading of assignments with appropriate coaching and feedback to the students; consistent connection with students and their performance; adherence to Northeastern's policies.

In addition to core teaching responsibilities, this individual will be responsible for a service component within their role, which will include acting as a liaison between the biotechnology program and Massachusetts-based partner organizations, student advising, the creation of new graduate work or customized courses, maintaining updates to the existing curriculum, and program administration. This unique position seeks to integrate professional practice into the classroom, specifically with respect to the Massachusetts bioscience ecosystem.

Qualified candidates should be committed to fostering diverse and inclusive environments as well as to promoting experiential learning, which are central to a Northeastern University education.
