Job Description:

The Apprenticeship Services Manager, under the direction of the Director, provides hands-on leadership and is responsible for creating a plan to develop, grow and implement the new apprenticeship program college-wide and in the community. The position is responsible for the overall operation, training and management of the program and its participants, and supports the campaign to cultivate the model both internally and externally.

Duties & Responsibilities:

•Develops and implements the Miami Dade College Apprenticeship Program which is focused on Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs
•Manages operational processes related to organizational systems including logistical support, course development, delivery, evaluations, process management and cost management
•Promotes and coordinates apprenticeship training in accordance with predetermined standards by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) and the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL).
•Notifies FLDOE of any apprentice actions including registrations, completions, reinstatements, cancellations, and repeat periods in compliance with District policies and applicable state and federal regulations related to apprenticeships
•Conducts research on the needs of local industry for apprenticeship programs
•Collaborates in the development of the apprenticeship website and the apprenticeship model manual for distribution
•Actively pursues and develops grant opportunities

Minimum Requirements:

•Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of directly related experience; or a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field and six (6) years of directly related experience
•Knowledge of legislation and regulations with respect to the apprenticeship programs, accreditation policy and programs, and a working knowledge of postsecondary education
•Advanced knowledge of the apprenticeship model of training
•Advanced knowledge of trades, clients and cultural diversity, and a working knowledge of trends in the industry
•Knowledge of social media platforms and innovative technologies
