Miami Dade College, North Campus is now accepting applications for the Adjunct Faculty, American Sign Language/Interpretation. The Adjunct Faculty member teaches American Sign Language courses as well as Interpretation and Deaf Education courses to students in the Associate in Science program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
Utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
Advises students by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods
Evaluates students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and informs students in a timely manner of their progress
Requirements:
Master's Degree in Interpreter Training or Deaf Education from a regionally accredited institution, or master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Sign Language or Interpreter Training for teaching transferable credit courses from a regionally accredited institution or bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, plus State/National certification, appropriate experience and demonstrated proficiency may be used to qualify for teaching non-transferable credit courses
