The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The MSU Denver Office of Admissions is looking for an enthusiastic, highly responsive, detail-oriented individual to join our team as an International Admissions Specialist.

Under the supervision of the Director of Diverse Recruitment, the International Admission Specialist will facilitate the admission services for international students and manage all aspects of the international student application process. Develops contacts with high schools, colleges/universities, agents, foreign study abroad advisors, and US embassies; functions as a Designated School Official ( DSO ) and responsible officer to issue visa documents and handles admission related immigration issues for current and prospective students.

IND208 Duties/Responsibilities
40% STUDENT SUPPORT

· Provide high quality customer service and enrollment counseling to prospective international students, including phone, email, and text communication. Meet with students and families in-person or virtually.
· Collaborate with on-campus partners, including but not limited to the transcript evaluation team, the International Student Advisor and Compliance Specialist, admissions processing and recruitment, and the Office of International Studies to ensure timely application processing and effective communication with international students.
· Provides admission counseling to prospective students (e.g. guides students who are not in F1 status who wish to be full time international students).
· Monitor and maintain email inbox for timely response to questions and requests, within the department, with other departments, and with students/applicants
· Assist with new international student orientation and other activities and events.

35% DOCUMENT PROCESSING

• Serve as a Designated School Official ( DSO ) for the ability to effectively process appropriate international Visa paperwork

• Coordinates international admission services. Reviews and updates admission forms and letters.
• Review international undergraduate applications and documents, update student enrollment systems with student information, prepare materials for admissions review, and determine appropriate admissions decision.
· Provide clear guidance on the F-1 student visa process for applicants and admitted students and issue I-20s
• Evaluate international secondary school credentials.
• Track applicants, admitted students, and enrolled students to ensure accurate data of incoming international students each term.
• Create and maintain documentation for international application processing, secondary school credential evaluation and document review.

15% RECRUITMENT

• Oversees the development and implementation of specific marketing and recruitment strategies for international students. Visits high schools, language schools, colleges/universities to market and recruit international students. Provides information about educational opportunities at the college.
• Serve as the main contact for external partners of the university to assist in the recruitment of international students
• Identify and foster new and existing markets for prospective international students.
• Represent university at international recruitment fairs and events
• Assist Office of Admissions with general prospective student events and outreach.

5% PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND STAFF TRAINING

• Develop and improve knowledge and skills but not limited to international student recruitment, admission & enrollment; international credential evaluation; CRM and data management.
• Stay up to date with SEVP’s governing regulations for students and schools.
• Represent MSU Denver at StudyColorado meetings
• Stay current on best practices in international recruitment and admissions.
• Provide training for admissions and call center staff on international admissions policies and processes.
• Attend relevant professional development opportunities, such as conferences, workshops, etc. focused on international students.
• Serve on relevant internal and external committees.

5% OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience in university admissions, student services, or related field
• Experience using a student information system or a customer relationship management system
• Evidence of providing strong customer service
• Strong written communication skills
• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident

• Experience in international student admissions or international student services
• Familiarity with non-immigrant and immigrant visa processes especially for student seeking an F-1 student visa.
• Experience using Banner (student information system)
• Experience using Slate (customer relationship management system)
• Experience in document management or processing
• Evidence of strong oral and cross-cultural communication skills
• Designated School Official ( DSO ) certification Work Hours
