The purpose of this position is to provide supervision, feedback, and instruction to graduate students in the Communication Sciences and Disorders department.

Looking for Speech Language Pathologists who have specialized in work with adults with communication disorders of all kinds to join our team of Clinical Educators to prepare the next generation of SLPs.

We are seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist to supervise graduate student clinicians in the Robbins Speech Language and Hearing Center in a variety of clinical programs, including the Gender Affirming Voice and Communication Program, to participate in the comprehensive exam process, and to participate in departmental meetings and events.

Your responsibilities:

Clinical supervision includes observing graduate students during group and individual sessions, meeting with student clinicians to provide feedback and instruction regarding clinical practice, reviewing and editing student-generated clinical documentation and assignments, coordinating and overseeing client care, and evaluating student performance.

Qualifications:
  • a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

  • current certification of clinical competence from ASHA
  • excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred qualifications:
  • 5 years or more of clinical experience with at least 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with a range of adult communication disorders and severity levels

The Communication Sciences and Disorders program at Emerson, one of the oldest and most respected in the country, is highly ranked among the most competitive graduate programs in communication disorders in the US. The department offers state-of-the-art, accessible, on-campus clinical facilities and a wide array of off-campus clinical sites, integrating our students, faculty, and program with our neighborhood and regional communities.

The Robbins Speech, Language and Hearing Center is family-centered and community-based; services are provided to approximately 100 clients each week, ranging in age from infants to the elderly, representing a variety of communication disorders and differences and from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. All graduate students begin their clinical experience in the Robbins Center.

We are excited to read about your clinical philosophy in your cover letter.

Statistics show that women and historically excluded individuals tend to apply to jobs where they meet 100% of the qualifications. We invite you to break this statistic.
