The Leisure Education Specialist develops, markets, and
implements leisure and travel noncredit programs and classes for
Duties include determining community interests and
needs for programming and classes; developing course
descriptions and syllabi; assisting with marketing initiatives
scheduling rooms, faculty, and other resources and obtain required
supplies and materials; submitting documentation to request state
funding for eligible programs; monitoring departmental budget(s);
providing data and documentation for program assessment;
establishing and maintaining community and vendor outreach and
relationships; and performing other duties as assigned.
This position requires overnight travel.
A bachelor’s degree and one to three years of related experience
is required. Other requirements include:
- Proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment
- Familiar with computer systems and collaborative educational
- Ability to manage and navigate MS TEAMS, Zoom and Microsoft 365
- Proficiency working with large database programs, including
compiling, organizing, and extracting data for reporting
- Excellent communication skills
The position requires availability on some evenings and weekends
for class management and travel trips, and may serve as a trip
guide for local and intercontinental travel.
