Compensation: $52.88 per contact hour

Schedule: Classes are typically scheduled Monday through Thursday in the afternoons and evenings. If enrollment continues to increase, we will begin to offer sections on Fridays and Saturdays

Job Description:

The department invites applicants to teach various Civil Engineering courses. Adjunct faculty may be needed to teach at off-campus sites and to assist with the instruction of distance learning courses. Both day and evening classes are available.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: On-line instruction techniques and methods; AutoCAD Civil 3D; Microsoft Office; Blackboard; internet research Skill In: Providing quality instruction (developmental, multicultural, applied learning) and support to a diverse student body; learning technologies and use of multi-media technology to enhance student learning; instructional planning and presentation; incorporating critical thinking, effective communication, and other general education outcomes in course content Ability to: Perform student learning outcomes assessments; demonstrate teaching strategies that focus on student- centered learning; demonstrate a commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies that aid student success and retention and reflect industry trends; adapt to multi-campus organizational work environments as well as changes in the discipline

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or closely related field or a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Engineer in Training (E.I.) Certificate. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field; Prior teaching experience; Experience using BlackBoard

Additional Information: May be needed to teach at off campus sites and assist with the instruction of distance learning courses. Both day and evening classes are available.
